SAN DIEGO, CA ¾ Rancho Santa Fe Technology, Inc. recently completed the $425,000 design and implementation of the voice and data structured cabling system for the new 130,000 square feet, two-story, two-building campus for Linsco Private Ledger’s new west-coast
corporate headquarters. The comprehensive voice and data design and implementation project involved the laying of over 7 horizontal miles of cabling included Category 3 voice backbone network connectivity, a date fiber optic backbone system, Category 5 enhanced horizontal station cabling and RG6 Coax Cable backbone (for video applications) primarily utilizing AMP components to allow for extended performance.
In business for over 30 years, Linsco Private Ledger (LPL Financial Services) is the nation’s leading independent brokerage firm without proprietary investment products. Through a national network of over 3,000 independent representatives who manage nearly $40 billion in brokerage products, LPL provides its clients with comprehensive investment advice and access to products from many of the nation’s leading investment companies. Their new two building campus is equipped
with one local area network (LAN) and over 1,200 work stations. “Rancho Santa Fe Technology presented us with a design that would accommodate LPL needs both now and in the future and their excellence in customer care was beyond our expectations,” stated Robert Rupple, MIS manager.
“Our biggest design challenge was creating the flexibility in a design that would accommodate the fast-changing technological system that Linsco wanted with respect to Moves, Adds and Changes (MACs) and still stay within their budget constraints,” said Tres Conrique, president of Rancho Santa Fe Technology. “However, the real value for both Linsco and Rancho Santa Fe Technology came because we were in on the design planning from the early stages which allowed for the
best possible design and eased the construction aggravation while saving time and supporting the best price points. Our biggest project issue was getting our materials onto the job site and coordinating our installation with the various milestone disciplines associated with the general construction schedule.”
