CALIFORNIA FEDERAL BANK CONTRACTS WITH COMPANY FOR

RAPID RESTORATION OF THEIR MISSION CRITICAL SYSTEMS

Rancho Santa Fe Technology and Cal-Fed Bank agree on a three-year maintenance and repair contract.

SAN DIEGO, CA ¾ The Repair and Maintenance business unit of Rancho Santa Fe Technology agreed upon a comprehensive three year contract with California Federal Bank to maintain, repair and restore their mission-critical network computer systems within a four-hour rapid response time. With California Federal branch offices dotted throughout California, Nevada, Texas, Maryland and Montana, Rancho Santa Fe Technology will warehouse spare equipment and supplies as well as deploy their field technicians throughout this widely dispersed geographical area.

With over 8,000 employees and over $55 billion in assets, California Federal Bank is the second-largest savings bank in the United States. California Federal made the decision to contract with an outside company for the maintenance and repair of their critical network computer information systems because of their prior relationship with Rancho Santa Fe Technology. For the past year, they have been the selected implementation vendor providing installation of all network equipment.

After closely working with Patti Evers of Cal-Fed and Dave McPhail, their design consultant, Edwin Betancourt, senior vice-president and the Repair and Maintenance business unit manager, describes Rancho Santa Fe Technology’s customer-care philosophy, "Our goal is to develop partnerships with our customers to create programs that best fit their individual needs. This is one of those partnerships that allows us to take care of our customer using our specialized expertise in rapid restoration of mission critical systems."

With over 400 branches in such a widely geographically dispersed area, keeping their computer network systems up and running is critically important. "We have less trips to Cal Fed sites from RSFT technicians because it is done right the first time," stated Patti Evers, Dept. Manager IS Operations Management Office, California Federal Bank.
