San Diego

INET Inc., a telecommunications solutions provider, will sell, market and support VCON's video-over-IP products, including its desktop, compact and group-conferencing systems.

With the addition of VCON's line of systems, INET now represents three of the industry's leading video-conferencing providers, including Polycom and Sony. VCON's product line provides INET's customers throughout Southern California with product selections ranging from desktop systems to television-based videoconferencing systems operating over IP and ISDN networks.

INET provides telecommunications equipment, network services and Internet services to more than 2,500 businesses in Southern California. VCON develops, manufacturers and markets networked video-over-IP solutions.


DSD Business Systems, a technology consulting and implementation group, now offers Web development and Web hosting services.

DSD Business Systems has researched various industries and markets to create bundled Internet packages for business use. DSD integrates MAS 90 accounting systems with Web technologies and offers customized programming. The Web integration allows for immediate order entry and order generation for online purchases.

DSD assists medium-sized businesses with the selection and implementation of an integrated business system.


Rancho Santa Fe

Rancho Santa Fe Technology Inc., a network communications services company, was honored as one of San Diego's Top 25 Emerging Technology Companies at the Second Annual Starcom 2000 Awards. Starcom 2000 honored companies that continue to propel the San Diego region's prosperity.

In the Emerging Technology Companies category, Rancho Santa Fe Technology was joined by a number of other San Diego companies as honorees, including Silicon Space Inc., Colleges.com, EduPoint.com, Women First Healthcare, Elitra Pharmaceuticals, SupplyPro, Optical Micro Machines, Silicon Wave Inc., Inflatable Design Group, PeopleFirst.com, Medibuy.com, Nanogen Inc., Cardio Dynamics, COM20001.com, E-Assist.com, MP3.com, NeoPoint Inc., Maxim Pharmaceuticals, Proflowers.com, @Backup, Leap Wireless, Marotz Inc., The Call Doc Co. and Racegate.com.

Additional award categories included high-tech, biotech, the top largest private companies and the top largest public companies. In addition, 12 of the county's top high school students received $2,000 scholarships.


La Jolla

Directory content and business information provider infoUSA.com, announced an agreement with NeoPoint Inc., a San Diego developer of smartphones and information services. Under the terms of the agreement, infoUSA.com will supply Internet yellow and white pages directory content, including addresses and phone numbers to NeoPoint's comprehensive myAlladdin.com smart wireless portal service.

By teaming with infoUSA.com, myAlladdin.com will offer users quick and convenient access to one of the largest sources of directory information on the market. The infoUSA.com database will enable subscribers to take advantage of such services as myAladdin.com's Restaurant Finder, which will supply the names, addresses, phone numbers and driving directions closest to the caller's location. Additionally, the infoUSA.com database will enable myAladdin.com to provide its subscribers with the ability to obtain a one-button connection to the phone lists just retrieved.
